Marc Tremblay

Marc Tremblay has always created paintings in black China ink on white canvas for art's sake. Self-taught, practising an arduous technique, he devotes a great deal of time to each piece. He portrays the unsung "Human Lansdcape" of the Charlevoix region realistically and with great sensitivity. - Three years of very hard work resulted in 28 paintings which sold out immediately, in La Malbaie in 1978. He had been awarded a grant from the Canadian Council of Arts to help prepare the show. In 1995, Marc Tremblay won the gold medal at the International Gala of Visual Arts in Montreal for his superbly evocative painting, "La marque du travail" ("The Mark of Work").
